MiaoBaby Carrier This is a work of great labor. First, one has to twist, twine, and wring several fine silk treads together and then secure the twisted thread on the cloth in a dense couch embroidery. The Miao in Zi-jing in the northwestern region of Gui-zhou Province are famous for this refined skill. This method is influenced by Chinese paper cutting. The pattern was first completed with batik and then filled with twist and couching stitches, which have completely covered over the original batik underneath. Condition: Top
