Coat and skirt of festive dress in Datang The coat buttons down the front with a square collar. It is made of homemade indigo cotton cloth and fully embroidered or stitched with geometrical figures without any base fabric left to be seen. The embroidery is colourful and delicate with red as the chief tone. The pleated skirt is only 25.5 centimetres long and 140 centimetres in width. Although there are no ornamental designs, the skirt shows fine workmanship.
