Miao Jacket - Zhijin Style from Qianxi, China.

Women will wear a short blouse with opening on the side, mostly with double-layered hemlines. The skirt is long and wide. The circumference length of the skirt is around five metres.. When wearing it, one has to fold it into pleats, the position where the pleats are made is also different, it varies according to areas and districts. For common clothing, they use linen and fine cloth. For festive clothing, they use silk and satin. They like to use red, yellow and green colorus as the main colours, they employed batik dyeing, inlaid floral designs, embroideries and stitchings alternately to decorate their clothing.. The designs, in the main, are expressed by wavy lines, but they also used zigzag lines and minute floral or grass-like patterns. Thus the designs appear to be natural and lively.

Flowers on sleeves. First they use silk to cut out the flower design and stitch it on the sleeves, then they will embroider the borders of the design. This is the usual decorative art of the Miao women of Huawu, Qianxi.

Backside of a blouse of Huawu, Qianxi county. This blouse is almost full of floral design. On both sides of the hemline there are double-layered inlaid floral pieces with wings of butterfly design. It is very unique.
